How do I get started using the RISE Up credentials?

The first step in using the RISE Up credentials is registering as a training partner. Our online partner is Penn Foster. With over 13 million online student enrollments, Penn Foster is proven, respected and reputable. Click here to register with the simple Penn Foster form that will take just a few minutes to complete. The approval process takes about one business day and you will receive an email with your username and instructions on how to log in and create your account.

How do I navigate the Penn Foster portal?

Penn Foster has a variety of resources to help our training partners navigate every aspect of the portal (current partners can log in here). On the Penn Foster portal, you can click on the resources tab for everything to get started using the RISE Up credentials. You can also find resources in our RISE Up Reference Library.

Where can I find general information about the RISE Up program?

The RISE Up Credential Handbook covers in depth information about each of the credentials and can be found in our RISE Up Reference Library.

What do each of the three RISE Up credentials cover?

For more detailed information about each credential including our learning concepts and exam blueprints, visit our pages for Retail Industry Fundamentals, Customer Service and Sales and Business of Retail: Operations and Profit. You can also find resources in our RISE Up Reference Library.

What do these credentials provide to my students?

Having one of our RISE Up industry-recognized credentials builds confidence, provides essential skills and can set you apart during interviews. You’ll understand the ever-changing retail environment and explore all that retail jobs offer. To find out about our national retail partners that offer interviews for students who have earned a RISE Up credential, email RISEUp@nrf.com.

How do I get procurement related paperwork completed?

Penn Foster manages the billing process on behalf of the NRF Foundation, including Purchase Orders and invoices. Because of this, Penn Foster will be the “Payee” for all orders. If you have any billing questions or have any procurement related paperwork that needs to be completed (i.e. new vendor form, tax-exempt forms, etc.), please contact the Penn Foster support team at support@nrfriseup.com or call 800-986-6482. Penn Foster’s W-9 is in our RISE Up Reference Library.

What options does RISE Up have for students needing special accommodations?

RISE Up is happy to provide special accommodations for students as requested by their trainer. Fill out our ADA Accommodation Form for students who require specific accommodations on the exams. For those students just needing additional time, our Additional Time Request Form is available on the Penn Foster Portal.

How can trainers and proctors view their available seat licenses?

Trainers and proctors can view licenses in the Manage License tab on the Penn Foster Portal. Here you can see how many seat licenses have been assigned to each location.

What reporting does the RISE Up Portal offer?

You can report on enrollments and date, exam dates and graduation dates in the Reports tab in the RISE Up portal.

What is the RISE Up return policy?

We are happy to assist with returns for products that you purchased by mistake or will not use. If you need to return an item, please Contact Us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order.

  • Online Courses: Refunds will be accepted for unused online courses for 30 days after purchase.
  • Exam Vouchers: Refunds will be accepted for unused exam licenses for 30 days after purchase.
  • Textbooks: Customers may return books in original, re-saleable condition for a full refund of product costs, less an $8 return handling fee.

What websites and email domains will be used to communicate with my trainer and/or students?

Emails will come from the following addresses and may need to be “whitelisted”, depending on your organization’s email system: retail@pennfoster.edu, support@nrfriseup.com and reply@foundation.nrf.com. You can also “whitelist” those same website domains: my.pennfoster.com, pennfoster.edu, lpp.learnermanagement.com, and bigcommerce.com.
