Offer RISE Up to a group of students or clients
Register your organization to offer RISE Up training for a group of students or clients. When you register as a training partner, you’ll be able to enroll individuals, track progress and download reports.
Join the more than 800 organizations nationwide that use RISE Up to help people of all backgrounds secure jobs. The RISE Up suite of training and credentials is available online and includes three courses:
Here’s how to set up your organization as a new training partner:
Step 1: Complete the quick partner registration form.
Step 2: After one business day, you’ll get a confirmation email. Use that to create your account and log in (here's a quick guide on how to get started in the Penn Foster portal).
Step 3: Click on the Purchase tile to select materials (current discounts are valid through June 12). Your materials will appear under the Manage License tab.
Step 4: Once you have purchased the credential that is right for you, learn more about the course and the portal by viewing our Train the Trainer videos. We have one for each credential; Retail Industry Fundamentals, Customer Service & Sales, and Business of Retail: Operations & Profit
Step 5: Click on the Admissions tile and then select New Enrollment to enroll individuals. Each person requires a unique name, email address and birth date (you may use organization’s address and phone number to protect student identity). Use the bulk enrollment option for if you’re enrolling more than 25 individuals.
Step 6: Students will receive emails to complete individual account registration and begin their training.
Step 7: For Retail Industry Fundamentals, students complete untimed exams after each section of the course.
For Customer Service and Sales and Business of Retail, students will complete a timed exam. The proctor requirement has been temporarily suspended due to social distancing measures as a result of the pandemic. Students will complete the exam on their own (additional measures have been taken to protect the integrity of the exam).
Step 8: Access the graduate report in the Report tile. Students who pass the exams will automatically receive an email and a downloadable credential certificate. Partners can also down the student certificates using the Certificate Download button.
Step 9: Congratulate your students on building the skills needed for a retail job and encourage them to search for opportunities on the NRF job board. Remind your students to include their credential on their resume and list it when they apply for jobs.

Retail Industry Fundamentals: Learners who earn this certificate will develop basic customer service skills, math skills to conduct sales transactions, and an understanding of the retail industry, its impact on the economy and the diverse jobs available. Best practices for interviewing and exploring career paths are also covered. This course is perfect for someone looking for a first job and/or developing workplace readiness skills. Customer Service & Sales: Learners who earn this certification will master customer service and sales skills, including understanding the customer life cycle, developing effective strategies to engage customers, assessing customer needs and closing sales. The course also covers best practices for building resumes and navigating job searches. This course is perfect for someone interested in or currently working in a customer facing role, whether in retail or another industry. Review the syllabus.
Business of Retail: Operations & Profit: Learners who earn this certification will understand merchandising, marketing, store operations, loss prevention and workplace safety. Learners will master math concepts, including determining pricing strategies and calculating profit and discounts. The curriculum also covers best practices for how to plan for a career and get promoted. This course is perfect for someone interested in advancing a career or a student needing to better understand how a business is run. Review the syllabus
