Due to campus closures amid the coronavirus, the deadline for the NRF Foundation Next Generation Scholarship has been extended to May 15.
While the application is completed electronically, advisors at NRF University Member Schools have traditionally been an important resource to guide students through the process. As in-person help shifts online, the NRF Foundation is now offering tools that students can access anytime as they apply for the scholarship, which features a top award of $25,000.
“We want to help students submit an application they are proud of,” says Annalea Soudry-Maurer, coordinator of scholarships and university relations for the NRF Foundation. “We created a video tutorial that walks through the steps of submitting the application on the Community Force platform so they know exactly how to navigate it.”
Applicants who need guidance on the options for uploading letters of recommendation will find it at about the 3-minute mark of the video.
The application also requires an essay, resume and unofficial transcript, along with a high-resolution color headshot and personal brand video (watch a sample video with practical tips on how to produce one during social distancing).
The Next Generation Scholarship is open to students of all majors who meet the eligibility requirements.
Applications for the 2021 Next Generation Scholarship are due May 15 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
